Reva’s TAP appliance now offers integrated EPCIS event reporting designed for deployment at RFID data capture locations around the globe
Reva Systems, the leading radio frequency identification (RFID) network infrastructure provider, today unveiled support for enterprise‐scale RFID data capture by demonstrating EPCIS (EPC Information Services) event reporting capabilities at the EPC Connection conference and exhibition being held this week in Chicago, IL. EPCIS is a ratified EPCglobal standard designed to facilitate RFID data sharing between organizations within enterprises and across trading partner ecosystems. With this announcement, Reva is re‐affirming its commitment and ability todeliver standards‐based RFID infrastructure solutions that accelerate the global adoption of RFID technology.
Reva’s EPCIS data capture implementation builds on its certified ALE (Application Level Events EPCglobal standard) engine to deliver RFID data formatted for transmission to remote EPCIS data repositories. The Reva EPCIS data capture module seamlessly integrates with enterprise EPCIS data repositories operating as an external hosted service or as an enterprise managed resource.
“Sharing accurate RFID‐based data between trading partners drives benefits up and down the supply chain,” said Peter Blair, director of product marketing at Reva Systems.
“EPCIS is becoming the standard mechanism by which many enterprises will enable this critical data exchange. However, before you share the data you have to capture it and this is where Reva’s EPCIS data capture and reporting capabilities make it simple to deploy this capability in any environment, anywhere in the world.”
The Reva Tag Acquisition Processor (TAP) is an RFID network infrastructure appliance that delivers accurate, actionable RFID data for enterprise integration frameworks, realtime applications and now EPCIS data repositories. Reva’s solution also includes the
Reva Management Console which is a graphical tool for configuring RFID‐enabled facilities and data services. Built‐in data service interfaces are provided for SAP Auto‐ID Infrastructure, IBM WebSphere, EPCglobal ALE, SQL database, WSDL web services, Java message services, and other enterprise integration and ERP packages. The total solution supports remote network management and automated device monitoring for system scalability plus centralized configuration and firmware upgrade capabilities for sustainable deployments. The new EPCIS data capture module is configured and managed through the Reva Management Console providing a straightforward implementation path for enabling standards‐based EPCIS data reporting.
