Germany based RFID hardware provider, iDTRONIC, recently introduced high-performance Handheld Terminal Ezit II.
According to iDTRONIC, Ezit II delivers maximum performance and reliability in a lightweight and extremely rugged design. It allows the capture of a comprehensive range of data - from RFID tags and bar codes to images - even in remote areas, where fixed RFID readers can't reach.
The terminal has an integrated CompactFlash 2 slot that can be used to integrate different RFID readers, such as UHF, ISO14443 AB, ISO15693 and 125kHz, which are protected in a special extension cap. The Ezit II UHF version is capable of reading / writing tags that conform to EPC Generation Two (Gen2) and ISO 18000-6 B/C standards. The ISO 14443AB version supports NXP Mifare and Desfire transponders. The terminal supports major Transponders such as NXP I-Code SLI and TI Tag-it HF-I are supported by the ISO 15693 Version.
The Ezit II terminal offers a wide range of options and accessories such as a barcode readers (1D and 2D), large alpha numeric keyboard, Vehicle Cradle and Protection Holster.
The working environment is using Windows CE 5.0 operating system to provide an advanced mobile operating system for robust application support. The Ezit II features the high-performance 400MHz Intel XScale processor, 128MB SD RAM and 64MB of non-volatile Flash ROM storage to protect data from resets or even complete power loss. In addition, it comes with an SD / MMC expansion Card that can store up to 1GB+ of data, and assure even more functionality. It is easily upgradeable and gives unmatched performance, maximizing your software development investment.
The ease of use and portability of the Ezit II combine to deliver exceptional ergonomics, ensuring reliable performance wherever and whenever you need it. The compact size and low weight makes it comfortable to use throughout a full-shift. A graphic transflective colour display with LED backlight provides exceptional clarity and contrast and allows easy reading in a variety of lighting conditions. A 16-key numeric pad with a 4-wire Resistance Type Touch Panel simplifies the device interaction.
To support global deployment, the terminal allows multiple configurations for different standards around the world, The 3000mAh battery can provide as long as 12 hours of operating time. Standard communication include both integrated RS232 and USB interfaces. The EzIT II handheld terminal is optional also available with Bluetooth and / or WLAN interface.
In addition to normal operating environment, iDTRONIC's EzIT II terminal can be used in tough ruggy environment and exceeds military specifications for resistance to drops, dust, vibration and both high and low temperatures. Rated at IP54, the mobile handheld is protected against dirt and water sprayed from all directions. It can withstand multiple 1.5m drops to polished concrete, as well as the shock and vibration consistent with mounting in a truck.
