 ThingMagic, Inc., a leading developer of RFID technology, announced M5e-Compact, Mercury5e and Mercury4 module Development Kits are available for purchase online at. Each kit provides a complete RFID reader software and hardware solution for testing, prototyping and developing embedded, mobile, portable and handheld RFID applications. With RFID spreading far beyond traditional retail and supply chain applications, the Development Kits address the demand by end users and ThingMagic business partners for easy to use, low-cost development tools. In particular, the new M5e-Compact Development Kit is ideal for creating embedded RFID applications in a wide range of industries including healthcare, legal, transportation, logistics and manufacturing.

As with the other Development Kits, the FCC-certified M5e-Compact Development Kit includes:

  • One M5-eCompact RFID reader module, installed in a DevKit chassis with standard connectors

  • Compact 3dBI RFID antennas and appropriate cables

  • Nine volt DC Power adaptor interfaces

  • A CD with a developers guide, firmware and a demonstration software program

  • Sample RFID tags and

  • A Serial-to-PC interface cable.
