New zones open at the Intellident and GS1 Test Centre PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 29 August 2008

Over the last year, Intellident and GS1 have worked in collaboration to promote the true potential of RFID technology by developing the EPCglobal RFID Test Centre. The success of the Centre has so far resulted in unexpectedly high visitor numbers and, as a result, an increased interest in EPCglobal standards.

To ensure the Test Centre remains key to providing companies with current and future RFID technology insight, it has been developed to now provide an extra 50 percent more test and demonstration space, along with an increased product set aligned to a rage of vertical industries.

Visitors are able to experience RFID solutions from the design stage through to industry implementation through zones, which are specific to particular market sectors, including solutions for the fresh food, retail, automotive, library and medical industry.

Andy Chadbourne, Marketing and Communications Manager for Intellident says: "Due to the growing interest in the Test Centre and RFID technology, we identified the vertical markets in which RFID is currently providing the largest ROI. Each zone will change with time, as we develop new solutions and enter into new markets." He adds: "It is important that we continue to support and build a strong case for companies looking to understand RFID technology. The expansion of the Test Centre means that we can demonstrate more solutions to more people, continuing to raise awareness and adoption of RFID."
