Mr. Jayaraman will build on the success of ADT Security in India with a focus on both global and national strategic customer relationships. He noted as an example ADT's recent US$9 million contract to provide access control and video surveillance security systems to the new Terminal 3 in Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport.
"This important contract reflects ADT's fast-growing business presence in India with a focus on protecting strategic infrastructure like the Delhi airport's new terminal," he said. "It also confirms how ADT's electronic security services and expertise can meet India's rising security concerns in all segments - infrastructure, retail, commercial and residential."
Previously Mr. Jayaraman was Director of Strategy and Business Planning for Commercial and National Accounts Business in ADT North America. In this position, he focused on the development and execution of commercial and vertical market strategies. He also played a key role in the largest security systems integrator acquisition by ADT North America. During his time there, he was a three-time award winner for performance excellence.
Before joining ADT in 2002, Mr. Jayaraman worked at various consulting companies in the U.S., Europe and Asia.
Mr. Jayaraman reports to Robert Zhu, President of ADT Security for Asia Pacific. "Ramesh Jayaraman has the kind of international experience and strategic thinking that will bring new perspective to the India market," said Mr. Zhu. "His proven ADT track record and strong leadership to drive success in our vertical markets naturally make him the best candidate for this important role. India is a critical emerging market for us, and I believe he will achieve the full market potential for our security business."
A native of India, Mr. Jayaraman earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Delhi College of Engineering, then moved to the U.S. where he earned his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Illinois. He is fluent in English, Hindi and Tamil and also speaks German.
