U.S. Department of State Adopts ODIN's EasyArms for RFID Weapons TrackingODIN announced that the United States Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, has deployed ODIN's EasyArms RFID weapons tracking solution to track a variety of weapons in and out of a key armory. ODIN's EasyArms is a complete, turn-key RFID hardware and software solution that is being used to automatically log weapons and users into and out of the armory without the need for manual recording.

"The EasyArms™ automated weapons tracking solution leverages RFID to improve the accuracy and speed of weapon logging while also enhancing asset security," said Paul Hennebury of ODIN. He continued, "RFID gives weapons a voice so they can indicate movement automatically even when humans forget to record the activity. With EasyArms you are no longer stuck with inaccurate paper based weapons logs. The system tracks movement and can even validate authorization for weapon movement."

ODIN's EasyArms is part of ODIN's Intelligent Asset Management (I AM™) asset tracking RFID software solution. The solution automatically tracks weapons and other assets into and out of locations and zones. It includes software, RFID tags, RFID readers and other equipment end users require for a total, turn-key installation.

EasyArms was developed based on research from ODIN's industry leading RFID lab that determined the optimal tag, placement and attachment on a variety of weapons. The solution at Diplomatic Security tracks weapons with their associated users and automatically logs the movement. In addition, it alerts the users and other interested parties if a weapon moves in an unauthorized manner or with an unauthorized individual and sends any movement data to a centralized database.

ODIN's EasyArms brings a complete solution to the problem of weapons logging and tracking by solving both the hard physics problem of reading on metal and working in the difficult physical and environmental conditions that firearms are commonly used. EasyArms also integrates easily into existing property management systems such as Maximo, Remedy, Oracle and SAP as well as homegrown ATF certified weapons databases.
