Arcontia, a Swedish producer of contactless smart card readers and terminals, announced its latest smart card reader ARC2330 . The launch marks the latest features to Arcontia’s new product line of smart card products designed for e-ticketing and e-payment markets.
The ARC2330 reader is a rugged and versatile ISO/IEC 14443 reader designed for smart card validation, travel card reload and contactless payments in retail. The reader is aimed for integration into system integrators’ and solution providers’ overall fare collection system and payment solution. It has four coloured LED lights, an audio buzzer and a graphical LCD display for an easy user interface. For point of sales usage the reader comes with a desktop mounting kit and for use on board vehicles the reader includes a pole mounting kit.
The reader operates as a slave device and comes with either USB or RS232 communication for easy integration into a variety of smart card applications. It is optimized for maximum data throughput rates on both the air and serial interface, and houses four ISO/IEC 7816 SAM slots operating in parallel for enhanced speed and improved smart card security.
Not only is ARC2330 fully compatible with the entire MIFARE family, but it also supports Smart MX and several other smart cards used in cashless ticketing and payment applications. Furthermore, the reader software supports the latest MIFARE AV1 and MIFARE AV2 SAMs from NXP. ARC2330 is a highly flexible and customizable reader ready to meet different market requirements.
The ARC2330 reader will be shown at various tradeshows throughout the year and Developer´s Kits are available from February.
