The Integrated Solution allows Extricom Customers to Accurately Locate Assets and People, and Track Smartphones and Tablets
Ekahau Inc.announced a technology and marketing partnership with Extricom, a leading manufacturer of Wi-Fi infrastructure. The Ekahau Real-Time Location System has been integrated with Extricom access points to allow Extricom customers to accurately locate high-value assets, inventory and people in any enterprise. Real-Time location tracking is increasingly utilized in healthcare, government, retail, hospitality, and mining.
The Ekahau RTLS solution requires a Wi-Fi network and no additional infrastructure. The Ekahau system consists of Ekahau Wi-Fi tags, the Ekahau RTLS Controller that is used to locate and manage tracked devices and Ekahau Vision for visualizing the tracked items and configuring location-based business rules.
In addition to tracking Wi-Fi enabled devices, such as tablets and smartphones, Ekahau RTLS can track small, battery-powered Wi-Fi tags. The tags are mounted to high-value assets or carried by people. Wristwatch sized and credit-card sized tags are available for providing improved safety and security staff members in hospitals, nursing homes, and more. The credit-card sized tag also acts as a Wi-Fi pager with two-way communications, and an text display.
Unlike RFID which is limited to tracking tags only where the RFID readers are, the Ekahau RTLS system can track the tags and Wi-Fi devices anywhere within the Wi-Fi footprint of the facility, in real-time.
The Ekahau-Extricom solution is available today from Extricom sales representatives globally.
