Three wishes at once - RFID ensures anti-counterfeitung, product traceability and logistics process optimization
KPV Solar GmbH introduces an innovative and currently unique product at the Intersolar 2011 in Munich: Modules equipped with a RFID chip. The chip will be integrated into the laminate.
Beside the distinct serial number all electrical module characteristics will be saved in the RFID chip. This information can be read at any time with customary RFID scanners from the front- and backside. Hence an optimized facility design can be done fast and very easily. Beyond that seamless documentation of all module characteristics is possible without circuitous reading of the flash-reports.
Accompanying this technology is used for a hundred percent product tracking of each single production step. This concludes to a further optimization of the internal quality assurance over the whole highly automated production process.
The RFID chip allows simplification in the logistic cycle. Incoming and outgoing goods can be recorded and booked automatically and accurate to serial numbers with accordant scanners in the storage. Therefore paper effort will be significantly reduced and all data will be transmitted electronically without time lag.
Another advantage of this innovative improvement is a double anti-theft protection. The visible RFID protected logo itself works as a deterrent against theft. If the modules are nevertheless stolen, the RFID-chip ensures reliable traceability and identification that would otherwise not be achieved using adhesive labels that could be removed.
All modules of the Power 54 line (KPV PE QCells, KPV PE NEC and KPV ME EC) will be equipped with RFID chips. This product development has solely benefits because there is only a surplus and no additional costs. Of course all module characteristics can be read from the accustomed flash reports. Mobile RFID scanners will be offered to a special introduction price to make the step into RFID technology as easy as possible.
