New Patents Issued by the United States Patent Office and European Patent Office significantly strengthens Terso's RFID patent portfolio, further reinforcing its position as the leader in automated inventory management for healthcare and life science.
Terso Solutions, Inc. a Wisconsin based technology company delivering automated inventory management solutions, announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office has granted several industry-defining patents to the company in the area RFID storage and distribution solutions.
These patents significantly strengthen Terso's patent portfolio, further reinforcing its position as the leader in automated inventory management for healthcare and life science. Terso Solutions, Inc. now holds more than twelve patents related to RFID enabled cabinets, refrigerators, and freezers related to filings initiated in 2001. The new patents are US7,942,321, US7,938,326, and EP1840854B1.
The innovations in these patents, along with those in previously issued patents, allow customers to store, track, distribute, and sell high value medical and scientific products while maintaining complete visibility into the products in inventory. Terso's RFID storage solutions allow customers to stay in regulatory compliance, improve product visibility and reduce shrinkage, and allow authorized users to access products anytime without manual signout.
These patents cover, among other things, functionality that includes:
- RFID based system of distributing products to customers
- Point of sale system that can read a large number of RFID tags
- Point of sale system that communicates with a remote computer
