TKM GmbH will present the RFID based Patch Cable Management System (PMS- System) live in the Professional Data Center Hall 11 / Booth B12 at the CeBIT 2012 in Hannover. The rapidly increasing need for security in data centers requires a system that speeds up the investigation of causes for network and server failures and minimises the damage caused by downtime.
The RFID transponder which is integrated in the plug, is located contact free by the reader which is situated at the socket. The information is read and forwarded to the management software. The simple to use documentation software allows the administrator to monitor and document passive components / active ports in real time, and command patch connections. The realisation of the patch action is eased by means of LEDs at the ports.
FUTURE-PATCH is used in the field of copper and fibre optics. It is available as a complete solution or as a retrofit. The RFID technology is not only suitable for data centre, but enterprise, industry and carrier as well.
An example for a successful installation, is the DB Systel GmbH in Frankfurt am Main. It was voted to third place at the “RFID-Mittelstandsaward 2011”.
