PortCheck to Begin Clean Truck Fee Collection

PortCheck Inc., the not-for-profit company created by marine terminal operators to collect the Clean Truck Fee (CTF) for the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach, announced that it will start collecting the CTF beginning Nov. 17. Enforcement of electronic gate access at the marine container terminals begins Nov. 10.

All cargo must be claimed before the CTF can be paid. Beginning Nov. 17, no cargo will be allowed to enter or exit from a marine container terminal unless the cargo has been claimed. Under the ports' program, the cargo owner (the party named on the bill of lading) is responsible for paying the CTF.

RedPrairie Warehouse Management Solution WMS Will Support Intermec CK3

RedPrairie recently announced the new Intermec CK3 mobile computer has been certified to support RedPrairie's Warehouse Management (WMS) solution. RedPrairie is an Intermec Premiere Honours Partner.

Patient Care Technology Systems Appoints Vice President of Sales and Business Development

Patient Care Technology Systems (PCTS), a subsidiary of Consulier Engineering, Inc., announced that Jaime Ojeda has joined the company as vice president of sales and business development.

Mr. Ojeda joins PCTS from the 3M Company where he was most recently responsible for strategic planning and new business development for 3M's Track and Trace Solutions division. In this capacity Mr. Ojeda aggressively led global market development and sales efforts in health care workflow automation solutions, enterprise-wide asset utilization and personnel tracking, materials management and medical device and tissue tracking. In his 15 year tenure at the 3M Company, Mr. Ojeda held positions of increasing responsibility in research engineering, product development, marketing development and business management. He has a black belt in Six Sigma and holds a MSE in Macromolecular Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan.
