HID Global Launches Growth Initiative for RFID Animal Tagging BusinessNewly Appointed Global Director Jean-Miguel Robadey to Drive Worldwide Expansion

HID Global today announced it has appointed industry veteran Jean-Miguel Robadey to run the company’s Identification Solutions (IDS) RFID animal tagging business.  As global director, Robadey will be responsible for extending HID’s two-decade-long leadership in RFID tagging into the rapidly growing market for solutions that improve the traceability of individual animals through the supply chain.

HID Global announced that its RFID reader module has been chosen by DESKO for its Personal Identification Mini Dock (PIMD) identity-checking system. Jointly developed with Panasonic, the system is designed for border-control, policing and other security applications, and includes a DESKO-designed optical character recognition (OCR) unit and a fingerprint scanner that are connected to Panasonic’s Toughbook CF-U1 ultra-mobile PC device.

GE Partners with Avery Dennison to Commercialize RFID Sensor TechnologyAgreement will bring to market unique RFID-based wireless sensor technology that can detect and measure chemical, physical, and biological conditions in a variety of applications

GE, acting through its Technology Ventures operation, announced its intent to commercialize GE’s RFID Sensing technology (RFS) through a commercial license to the RFID division of Avery Dennison. The proprietary RFS technology will enable a wide range of low-cost wireless sensing products in a series of applications, including industrial, food & beverage, packaging and pollution prevention.
