UPM RFID announces collaboration with Freedom Shopping to deliver RFID and NFC tags via new NFC Freedom store onlineUPM RFID and Freedom Shopping, a leading provider of item-level RFID solutions, have joined forces to deliver UHF and NFC RFID tags and inlays from UPM RFID through a new online store, ‘NFC Freedom’. The presentation of the 'Best Professional Supplier Awards 2011' took place in Frankfurt am Main, Germany on 22. November 2011. For the first time the company competition was supported by PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deutsche Messe AG and the 'Zuliefermarkt' magazine from the Carl Hanser publishing house, under the patronage of Dr. Philipp Rösler, the Federal Minister of Economics. Supplier companies from all sectors and from all over Germany were able to participate.

SMARTRAC to take over UPM’s RFID business

Dr. Christian Fischer, CEO of SMARTRACUPM-Kymmene Corporation to become indirect stockholder of SMARTRAC N.V.

SMARTRAC N.V., a developer, manufacturer, and supplier of RFID transponders, announced that the company has reached an agreement with UPM-Kymmene Corporation (UPM) by which SMARTRAC N.V. (SMARTRAC) will take over UPM’s RFID business while UPM-Kymmene Corporation will become an indirect stockholder of SMARTRAC. The transaction is still subject to certain customary conditions, including regulatory approvals.
