SATO Acquires Argox Information

Two days ago SATO announced its acquisition of Argox Information Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of barcode printers, barcode scanners, and portable terminals, making Argox a member of the SATO Group of Companies.

Founded in 1996, Argox became one of the world's leading design and manufacturers of low cost and entry level thermal printers that fulfill the application demands of emerging and industrial markets for cost effective, reliable products. Ever expanding its market influence Argox has focused on China , Brazil , Turkey , and is today tracking to become a main provider of auto-ID solutions in countries such as India , Russia and South Africa.

SMARTRAC acquires KSW Microtec AG

SMARTRAC signs purchase agreement to acquire KSW Microtec AGSMARTRAC N.V., a developer, manufacturer, and supplier of RFID transponders, announced that the company signed a contract today with Deutsche Effecten- und Wechsel-Beteiligungsgesellschaft AG, Jena, Germany, regarding the acquisition of KSW Microtec AG by SMARTRAC N.V. at an amount of EUR 24 million enterprise value. The acquisition is subject to standard closing conditions.

The acquisition of KSW Microtec AG (KSW) will add KSW’s proficient team and renowned technology to SMARTRAC’s strong capability and global network of research and development, production, and sales locations on four continents.

SMARTRAC to become majority owner of Neology Inc.

Dr. Christian Fischer, CEO of SMARTRACSMARTRAC N.V., a developer, manufacturer, and supplier of RFID transponders, announced that the company today signed an agreement regarding the acquisition of Neology, Inc.. Under the terms of the agreement, SMARTRAC will acquire Neology for US $ 30.0 million, on a cash and debt free basis. In addition, the parties have agreed on an earn-out component of up to US $ 9.0 million based on results of operations for the years 2011 and 2012.
