Omni-ID, a leading innovator in passive UHF RFID technology, announced the appointment of four seasoned industry veterans to the company's senior executive team. The new hires joining Tony Kington, Managing Director of Europe, include: Kevin McCabe as Chief Technology Officer; Andre Cote, Vice President of Global Business Development; Xiao-Wei Zhu, Vice President of Marketing; and Ken Edoff, Vice President of Sales. Omni-ID's executive team is charged with delivering the most accurate and reliable RFID technology solutions to new and previously underserved vertical markets, including information technology, telecommunications, industrial and retail industries.

Intermec, Inc. yesterday announced the appointment of Raymond Cronin as Vice President and General Manager, RFID.

Cronin is a seasoned executive with significant senior level technology experience in the areas of corporate strategy and the commercialization of new technologies. His corporate background encompasses a range of disciplines, including operations, product management, sales, customer service and support. Cronin was most recently at Azimuth Systems, Inc. where as founding Chief Executive Officer and member of their Board of Directors, he led the company from concept to one of the market leaders in the wireless LAN test equipment industry.

Wavetrend Technologies Ltd, a world leader in the deployment of active RFID Solutions, announced recently that Edward Gonsalves has joined its executive team as Senior Vice President - Product Development. Ed has been in the semiconductor and high technology industry for more than 25 years, holding a variety of positions in engineering, marketing, sales and business development.

Mr. Gonsalves joins Wavetrend after a successful five-year career at NXP Semiconductors (formerly Philips Semiconductors). Ed was integral in supporting their RFID business across North America. Ed holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute and currently serves as an Adjunct Professor in its Department of Management. He is an authority in the RFID field and has spoken at many industry trade and conference events.
