Why could Samsung rename its future Z Flip 2 to Z Flip 3?

Lately, Samsung seems to want to change the name of its devices. We particularly remember a sudden transition from the Galaxy S10 to the Galaxy S20 (the same goes for the Galaxy Note 10), but also a name change between the Galaxy Fold and the Galaxy Z Fold 2. The Korean company seems to be partying to this day to turn all of its product lines upside down as it appears Samsung is presenting the Galaxy Z Flip 3 as the successor to the Galaxy Z Flip without going through the Galaxy Z Flip 2.

Like Brice de Nice, Samsung is switching from the Galaxy Z Flip to the Galaxy Z Flip 3 by destroying both. Aside from the fact that the company seems to have an explanation in this particular case. Technically, the next Galaxy Z Flip will be the third, as there was first the Galaxy Z Flip, then the Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and soon the Galaxy Z Flip 3. It is currently unavailable. This is just a rumor, but it seems perfectly plausible.

Release planned for this summer

According to initial information, Samsung should therefore present its Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 in July. This is also why the company might prefer number 3. Without them, consumers would not be able to understand the presentation of a Galaxy Z Fold 3 and that of a Galaxy Z Flip 2. With the same name, neither of the two smartphones will only be punished the next time they are started.

However, if we soon discover a new Galaxy Z Fold and a new Galaxy Z Flip in the coming months, Galaxy Note enthusiasts will have to do without this year. Samsung has confirmed that this line of products will be phased out in 2021, but expects successful returns in 2022. Today, the Galaxy S21 is so powerful that it has everything a Galaxy Note can offer. Samsung therefore fears that the Galaxy S21 will compete fiercely with its big brother, so there will be no Galaxy Note 21.
