The 6 announcements expected at Apple’s keynote on April 20, 2021

After several weeks of rumors, the news is now official: Apple will hold a keynote on April 20, 2021. No iPhone at the start of the year, but most likely new iPads if Apple keeps to its usual schedule.

The guessing game has been in full swing since the official conference. Will Apple just introduce its new iPads? Will we finally discover AirTags? Will the Apple TV 2017 be updated? We take stock of the 6 most anticipated announcements of the keynote “Sping Loaded” on April 20th.

iPad Pro obviously

We’re pretty sure Apple will unveil its new iPad Pro on April 20th. Or rather, the new iPad Pro. As with any renewal of the range, the American should reject its flagship tablet in two versions of 11 and 12.9 inches.

According to the latest rumors, both will ship a new chip that incorporates the architecture of the M1 installed on the latest Macs. Enough to make the iPad Pro an even more believable medium in terms of creation and playback. But also so that Apple can reiterate that the iPad Pro can replace a computer.

If the design of the new iPad Pro remains more or less similar, the screen of the 12.9-inch model could well be based on the mini-LED technology. In any case, the latest rumors seem to be pointing to it. Still no OLED screen as the mini LED is based on LCD technology.

After all, this new iPad Pro could be accompanied by the third generation Apple Pencil.

iPad mini maybe

Probability: not sure at all / 10

The iPad mini is a family favorite. While the entire range has been renewed, the smaller one will soon be celebrating its third year. And for 3 years an iPad feels in the Lightning port.

Especially since its release, the iPad mini hasn’t been the most modern. The design was taken back to the old versions with wide borders around the screen. A little new blood wouldn’t hurt him.

If Apple introduces any other iPad than the two pros, there’s a good chance it’s an iPad mini.

Last year, Apple promised to review its Mac range over a two-year period by integrating its homemade chips. It’s been a year now and only the 13-inch MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac mini have an M1 chip.

So, according to some rumors, Apple could launch new machines that run on its homemade chips. The most anticipated, the iMac. The Pommé desktop computer is one of those high-tech products with a special look.

That said, Tim Cook should take the floor in the second half of the year to unveil a new generation MacBook Pro, which is likely to come with a new, more muscular configuration. Will Apple wait to start the iMac at the same time? Reply in a few days.

New generation Apple TV

Probability: low chance / 10

Apple doesn’t have a habit of renewing its Apple TV on a regular basis. The last available version is from 2017 and even if it’s still among the best TV boxes out there, a little update wouldn’t hurt.

That’s good, Apple would be preparing a much more complete Apple TV than the 2017 model. It would have a speaker attached, so it would be a mix between the Apple TV as we know it and a HomePod mini. It would also have a webcam so that it could communicate via video.

Issue: Bloomberg determined that the product in question is in its early stages of development. So he won’t be ready for a conference in a few days.

If an Apple TV is announced on April 20th, it will be an update of the previous one with a faster processor, increased storage capacity and a frequency of 120 Hz to improve the gaming experience on Apple Arcade.

AirPods 3, the “rest”

Probability: Ray Charles / 10

AirPods are probably one of Apple’s most popular products. However, this has been nothing new in the tropics since the AirPods Pro launched in 2019. The American preferred to put on his AirPods Max headphones.

A few days before the keynote, a leaker just posted a photo of alleged AirPods 3 on Weibo. Fake? Difficult to say as the leaks remain rare in relation to this product.

At the moment we only know that the charging box would be more compact and the design slightly revised. Very poor information for such a popular product.

AirTags, you again

Probability: AirPower / 10

AirTags are a bit like the AirPower of the 2020s. With every new keynote we expect them, with every keynote they stand out due to their absence.

Recent rumors point to a competing geolocation system from Tile called AirTags.

Like Samsung’s SmartTags, AirTags could therefore very accurately geolocate the position of the object to which they are attached. Apple even developed a function to locate this object in augmented reality.

Will the April 20th presentation be the right one? There are few opportunities. Again.
