After playing a legendary DC comic book character, this actor turned down a role on Marvel

Few of the actors have turned down roles on Marvel in recent years. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is arguably the best place to start (or restart) a career today. But in the crowd we still find Joe Manganiello, the actor who plays DeathStroke on DC Comics. But it must be said that he has a very good reason.

Joe Manganiello wants to get the right role

The actor was previously seen in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, in which he played Flash Thompson. A supporting character who shouldn’t be destined to return to the MCU, despite the presence of many former actors for Spider-Man: No Way Home. While he’s not entirely ruling out the idea of a cameo as a nod to fans, Joe Manganiello appears to have bigger ambitions, as he confided in an interview with Justice-Con.

It is reminiscent of the Sinister Six at Sony or the arrival of the X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He declares that he is a fan of Marvel Comics and also wants the “right role” when he ends up in the MCU … even if it means waiting for it to happen. He therefore dreams of a more substantial role than a simple cameo. However, Joe Manganiello states that he was offered a role on Marvel a few years ago, but he turned down the proposal. But he prefers not to reveal which one it was.

The actor, who recently reappeared in the Snyder Cut of Justice League, also reveals that he would play a major role in the movie The Batman, which was originally directed by Ben Affleck.

Some recurring Batman characters who appeared in the movies wouldn’t survive. In many ways, it would have been a big spring clean.

In the group, it is hard to imagine that Alfred or Commissioner Gordon might very well have lost their lives … But there is no doubt that you will never know for sure.
