Note for BforBank customers: Apple Pay is available

BforBank customers had to be patient with the arrival of Apple Pay. The French online bank, a subsidiary of Crédit Agricole, was finally integrated into Apple’s mobile payment program in April, almost four months behind the previously announced schedule.

Hello, for your information, this feature should be available in January 2021.

Now that Apple Pay is available, you can add your BforBank debit card to Apple’s “Wallet”. For any transaction, all you have to do is bring your iPhone near the “tap” for contactless payments. The process is carried out securely via the smartphone’s NFC chip.

As a reminder, mobile payments have an advantage over contactless payments using a physical bank card. In fact, there is no limit to the amount within the daily or monthly limit of your card. Mobile payment purchases are indeed more secure and do not consist of simply approaching a plastic card with no user authentication requirement.

The parent company of online banking, BforBank, does not specify whether Crédit Agricole users can use Apple Pay as a whole. By then, the payment service was already available, but limited. Use was limited to payments in France only and with no availability to process transactions abroad or on the Internet.

As a reminder: BforBank is an online bank that was born in 2009 and has 240,000 customers. It is the sixth largest behind Monabanq and Fortuneo. It is recommended that you offer a free bank account with a Visa Premier debit card or Visa Infinite card (for a fee). To find out all about the BforBank, take a look at our full review.
