Are we watching or skipping this crazy movie on Netflix?

Please note that the second part of this article contains very slight spoilers for the film Love and Monsters, which is broadcast on the Netflix streaming platform. You won’t discover much more than the summary suggests, however! In order not to have too many details, watch the video!

It’s a film that gives you a touch of deja vu. It’s impossible not to think about Welcome to Zombieland when you discover Love and Monsters, the feature film that has been a hit on Netflix in recent days. We follow the adventure of Joël, a young man who lives in a small community in a post-apocalyptic world. Faced with the threat posed by an asteroid, mankind has used bombs. that achieved their goal, but also caused mutations in cold-blooded animals, most of which became monsters. But Joël (played by Dylan O’Brien) will decide to take to the streets who can’t kill a single monster to find the love of his life. Here is the script for the film.

Unsurprisingly, we are in a “feel good movie,” an adventure for a low price and with a good dose of emotion. But is this all bad news? No, as the story turns out to be surprisingly adorable. We love this hero and his companions and their universe. Enjoy this Sunday evening with the family so you don’t have to worry about choosing a TV program!

In Love and Monsters, we also love the absolutely lovable bestiary. From the dog that accompanies Joël to the giant crab that turns out to be an angel and passes the giant snail or the giant toad, the film manages to surprise us, sometimes disgust us a little, but above all to play the card of ‘originality . Not exactly obvious for a movie that, let’s face it, still feels a little warmed up. We’ll also appreciate the Michael Rooker (Walking Dead, Guardians of the Galaxy) and Jessica Henwick (Game of Thrones, Iron Fist) cast. And since the film isn’t afraid of criticism, even the villain, played by Dan Ewing, turns out to be a delicious caricature.

Is a sequel planned now? There’s nothing in the boxes from Netflix right now. According to the director’s confessions, if the ending is open, even if he already has ideas. In the worst case, he also says he is ready to reject the idea in series. Enough to expect a sequel to the adventures of the film’s heroes.
