A GTX version for the Volkswagen ID.4 SUV
Volkswagen is offering this new GTX version this summer together with the “classic” SUV ID.4. A model with an electric motor on each of the two axes. Together, the motors deliver a maximum electrical output of 220 kW (equivalent to around 300 hp) and can work together as an electric all-wheel drive, a first for the ID family.
When introducing this new model, Volkswagen demonstrated the capabilities of this all-wheel drive, which enabled the ID.4 GTX to climb at a 37.5% slope without breaking an eyelid. Note that the top speed is electronically limited to 180 km / h.
“The full torque of the electric motor is immediately available and the excellent behavior of the vehicle can be felt at every turn,” explains Thomas Ulbrich, member of the management board for development. “Not to mention that the innovative operating and safety concept is as intelligent as the engine! The augmented reality head-up display and numerous assistance systems are a great help for the driver. “
It should be remembered that the manufacturer has set itself the goal of significantly increasing the sales share of 100% electric vehicles, so that it will reach 70% in Europe before 2030. Volkswagen also intends to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 and invest around 16 billion euros in electric mobility, hybridization and digitization before 2025.
On the price side, the new Volkswagen ID.4 GTX is to be exhibited in Germany from 50,415 euros. Availability at dealers is planned for this summer.
