As you know, Bill Gates made a fortune co-founding Microsoft with Paul Allen in 1975. Long considered the richest man in the world, he left his post at the top of Microsoft in 2000 and founded the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation with his wife. This foundation aims to improve health care and reduce extreme poverty worldwide, while in the US the foundation aims primarily to expand access to education and life saving technology.
What will happen to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation?
Over the years, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has grown into one of the largest not-for-profit foundations in the world, with fund assets of over $ 50.7 billion. It remains to be seen what impact this separation will have on the Foundation’s activities. In their statement, Bill and Melinda assure that they will continue to work together for this common cause.
To know that Bill and Mélinda aren’t the only two administrators of this foundation, there’s a third who is none other than Warren Buffet. In addition, the foundation employs more than 1,541 people, so it doesn’t just rely on the Gates couple.
