Record results for Nintendo
Indeed, the reality is even more flattering when the predictions already suggest excellent results for Nintendo. In fact, Nintendo achieved a net profit of 3.6 billion euros in the fiscal year, an increase of 86% over the previous year.
Better still, Nintendo managed to break its previous record dating back to fiscal 2008/09 with a Nintendo DS / Nintendo Wii tandem that wrecked everything in its path. In the last fiscal year, Nintendo achieved a 72% higher net profit than 12 years ago.
The results are apparently due to a Nintendo Switch, which apparently also breaks all records as the console is sold nearly 85 million times worldwide. Nintendo sold 28.8 million switches in the past fiscal year, an increase of 37% over the previous year. In 2021, the Nintendo Switch is expected to reach 7th place among the best-selling consoles of all time and the PS3 will pass. It could even go for the Nintendo Wii, which has a total of 101 million sales.
In 2021, Nintendo should continue its momentum with a Nintendo Switch that continues to seduce the public despite a launch that was already 4 years ago. Most likely, the Japanese giant could use this year 2021 to launch a “revamped” version of its flagship console with a more contemporary machine that (we hope) comes with an OLED screen, d ‘a new dock and a somewhat more contemporary technical sheet.
