In 2019, Ubisoft announced numerous adjustments to its video game licenses, particularly at The Division. Refueling the division in the coming months / years
Today Ubisoft confirmed via a blog post that the project is still ongoing and that the film The Division is actually being produced on Netflix with Ubisoft Film & Television. We will therefore find Jessica Chastain and Jake Gyllenhaal, directed by director Rawson Marshall Thurber in this film, which is inspired by the events of the original game launched in 2016.
Ubisoft states that this new movie is also the first step in its strategy to expand the franchise to other media. Fans of the license will be pleased to know that Aconyte will soon be releasing a new original novel. The story will be set in the wake of the Division 2 events and will follow agents as they fight to secure supply routes in the United States while the green poison continues to grow.
For video games that are already very popular on consoles and PCs, the division license will be discussed again … over a future mobile episode. In fact, Ubisoft recently confirmed the launch of a new free game based on its precious license. and which will soon appear on iOS and Android.
On top of that, Ubisoft has also confirmed Heartland, a standalone game that doesn’t need to know the universe of The Division. However, for those who have already played the first two games, it offers a new perspective on the universe in a new setting. The game will be available on PC, console and cloud in 2021-22.
