Netflix produces a lot of content to promote its original films and series. This content is usually shared on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or YouTube. In addition to hosting films and series, SVOD would of course also like to offer an online area where users can access this additional content.
N-Plus, an online space for Netflix content
Recently the protocol website revealed the existence of a new project called N-Plus. According to him, Netflix even sent a survey to some users for their opinion. “N-Plus is a future online space where you can learn more about the Netflix shows you love and everything related to them,” the poll reads.
At the request of the Protocol, a Netflix representative also stated that this survey is part of the company’s efforts to seek audience advice on new ideas. And for now, SVOD doesn’t want to say more.
However, we already have an idea of what features Netflix could offer in this online space. For example, the company could allow users to share lists of movies and series with friends. And if a user isn’t a Netflix subscriber, they can watch the trailers.
Some kind of social network where we can even comment on the development of a new series?
Netflix could also include a music feature that lists the songs used in its films and series. In addition to hosting promotional content for the Netflix catalog, N-Plus can also host conversations that may impact a movie or series that has yet to be released. Indeed, the company would have sought the opinion of its users on a feature that would allow them to “learn more about a planned emission (pre-production) and influence its development with comments before filming ends”.
Finally, Netflix could also allow users to post reviews of its films and series. In other words, this project could become a real social network focused on Netflix content.
However, we do not currently know which functions will ultimately be offered on N-Plus. In addition, at this point it is still possible for it to be abandoned.
It is clear that the company needs commitment from its users. In addition to the videos, pictures, chats, and podcasts already shared on third-party platforms, creating N-Plus could help Netflix achieve its goals.
