The Last Of Us Part. II will soon celebrate its first anniversary (June 19th). It is the most award-winning game in history with over 300 Game of the Year awards. The game is available on PS4 and compatible on PS4 Pro. It allows you to play in 1080p (1440p on PS4 Pro) and 30 FPS for an incredible adventure on the streets of Seattle. Today Naughty Dog is adding a little extra for the backward compatible versions on PS5!
The Last of Us Part II in 60 FPS!
This is not a next generation version, but an update for backward compatible versions of The Last Of Us Part.II. The PS5 therefore makes it possible to shorten the loading times, display a resolution in 1440p and only slightly improve the controller with the haptic vibrations. Thanks to the new update, it is now possible to play at 60 FPS!
It is official! One of the most requested items from our community is available. Download the free PS5 performance patch today! https://t.co/S0yvz9hNrc

The update is of course free of charge and available immediately. Naughty Dog announced on the PlayStation blog that this update is one of the most requested items from the community. The Californian studio says this performance patch is “just the first step in working on the PS5.” More surprises should arrive soon!
We can then think that Naughty Dog is developing a true next-gen version with the capabilities of DualSense as well as 4K. We also suspect that according to the latest information from journalist Jason Schreier, the studio is working on a multiplayer game set in the universe of The Last Of Us.
Regarding the future of the series, Naughty Dog Co-President Neil Druckmann confirmed last month that The Last Of Us Part III is currently in pre-production. Good news for fans who can wait with a remake of the first opus on PS5, but also with the series being produced on the HBO site.
Enough to celebrate the series’ 10 years in June 2023!
