More than 25 exclusive products are in development

On May 19, the PS5 blew six months in France. The latest PlayStation is still breaking sales records and has the luxury of beating PS4 sales over the same period. A pretty unbelievable success that shouldn’t run out of breath in the coming weeks and months.

Indeed, Sony plans to replenish many stocks starting this summer, even if the situation should remain complicated until early 2022. However, the company also intends to pursue a winning strategy that has made it possible to light up the PS4’s production of exclusive. Hermen Hulst, president of SIE Worldwide Studios, was interviewed by Wired magazine a few days ago and returned to Sony’s strategy. Since the PS3 generation (from 2007), the company has specialized in developing its first-party studios to produce high-quality games exclusively for PlayStation consoles. Uncharted, The Last Of Us, InFamous, God of War, Horizon, Ratchet & Clank or even Marvel’s Spider-Man – the list includes many real masterpieces developed by Sony studios. All titles sell millions of copies, making it possible to sell many consoles.

Hermen Hulst announces that PlayStation Studios is currently developing 25 exclusive games for the PS5, half of which will be new licenses. In view of the number of ongoing projects, these are of course not just big triple-A blockbusters. SIE Worldwide Studios president states that large, small, and games of various genres are under development.

Unfortunately, Hulst doesn’t give any further details, so we have no way of knowing which ten to twelve sequels are in the works. Although we already know that Gran Turismo 7, Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, Horizon Forbidden West, God of War Ragnarök and a remake of The Last Of Us are in the works.

Regarding the next horizon, Sony and Guerrilla Games are organizing a State of Play Thursday evening at 11:00 p.m. to learn about 14 minutes of gameplay and likely the title’s release date.

It’s the return of the State of Play this Thursday, May 27th, with a detailed preview of Horizon Forbidden West gameplay: https://t.co/4aipSxa59B pic.twitter.com/mrHSDsuYAw
