It has now been a long few months since Tesla lifted the veil on its amazing cybertruck. An expensive vehicle, with an improbable design and practically unusable, that would nonetheless have tremendous success. Despite criticism, the Tesla Cybertruck placed more than 200,000 orders a few days after the online reservation system.
Tesla Cybertruck, the Million!
Almost two years after its official presentation, the Tesla Cybertruck is not yet in circulation, but its order book continues to fill. At the last count, reservations for the futuristically picked up Tesla passed the milestone of one million copies!
Despite the pandemic, Tesla continued to make hundreds of reservations for its cybertruck every day. At the last score in June 2020, the American vehicle had a total of 650,000 reservations. Of the millions of registered reservations, users today prefer the dual-motor model (48%) and then the tri-motor (44.5%). Only 7.5% of customers have chosen the single-engine model.
Keep in mind that in the US, the Tesla Cybertruck starts at $ 39,900 while the tri-motor version starts at $ 69,900. Tesla should be able to start production of its Cybertruck by the end of 2021 and it is obviously the most popular models (hence Dual Motor and Tri Motor) that will be launched first.
On the competition side, remember that the other American giant, Ford, has lifted the veil of direct competitor to the Cybertruck with its new F-150 Lightning. It remains to be seen who will take over the crown of the king of electric pickups in the US. The F-150 is a particularly popular model across the Atlantic.
