Smartphone brands are increasingly interested in blockchain and OnePlus has just published a very explicit study on the subject. Discovered by MySmartPrice and titled “OnePlus Blockchain Research”, it was aimed at OnePlus customers to ask about their relationship with these new markets.
Customers were asked whether they had already bought and kept cryptocurrencies, but also NFTs (non-fungible tokens), the new Eldorado of digital works thanks to blockchain.
OnePlus then asked them what kind of problems they were currently having. What do you imagine that OnePlus would like to develop new services in connection with these digital assets.
Three projects planned
Between cryptocurrencies and NFTs, OnePlus could be required to offer its users a shopping platform by providing them with a wallet and all services close to Binance or even Coinbase. With NFTs, it’s still difficult to know what kind of digital certifications OnePlus is trying to apply for. To understand the interest and areas of activity that have been taken by NFTs by storm, here are 5 projects.
These fields of study reflect Samsung. The South Korean brand is more advanced in the industry and intends to offer its customers a portfolio of digital tokens with its SDK “Samsung Blockchain Keystore”. It is not known if OnePlus sent its questionnaire for any purpose other than offering homemade services, but a third project already seems very specific.
This third part of the study deals with the used market for smartphones. If this could seem decoupled from blockchain projects, OnePlus has asked its customers the question anyway. Put simply, the brand might consider setting up a platform for its customers to sell used smartphones. And the blockchain would make it possible to certify ownership of every device.
In retrospect, this is not the first time that OnePlus has taken up the topic of cryptocurrencies and the blockchain. In 2018, the brand even released a video revealing a mysterious token, followed by the message, “The blockchain will hit OnePlus soon”.
