The AAA Data platform has been delivering its results on the sales of electric vehicles in France since the beginning of 2021. And to everyone’s surprise, the one who seemed invincible would be the little Renault ZOE, an American competitor, namely a certain Tesla Model 3.
Tesla Model 3 will exceed sales in France in 2021
In fact, according to the census signed by AAA Data, 8,083 Tesla Model 3s were sold in France between January 1 and May 31. It is better than the Renault ZOE with a total of 7,448 new registrations. A Renault ZOE that has a lot to do with a compatriot, namely the Peugeot e-208.
In fact, the manufacturer’s small electric car with the lion seduces many drivers, as the latter recorded a total of 7,233 sales in France. Then comes the little Twingo, then the Fiat 500 e.
On the Volkswagen side, sales of the ID offer are difficult. In fact, only 1786 ID.3s have been sold in France since the beginning of 2021. Of course, it will be interesting to follow the development of the market in the second half of the year to see, for example, whether the little Dacia Spring manages to piss off the top 3 with its very attractive price.
It is worth remembering that in 2021, the electric car market in France will see a very significant increase of the order of 45% compared to the previous year. A trend that should develop over the months as most manufacturers have already committed to a strategy aimed at offering a mostly (or even fully) electric fleet within a few years.
