Marvel doesn’t communicate much about its Secret Invasion series, which will air on Disney + and will include six episodes. It has everything that intrigues us, however, as its interconnection with Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is so promising. As a reminder, this fiction is based on the comic book of the same name from 2008. It follows the path of the Skrulls, metamorphic aliens who have been infiltrating Earth for years.
What cast for Secret Invasion?
We had already seen this species in the Captain Marvel movie. The latter are looking for a new home after the war that played them out against the Kree. So it will be interesting to see how they managed to settle on the blue planet and what exactly they are tracking.
At the moment these aliens are portrayed as very friendly and lovable. The deal is very different in the comics, however, where most Marvel superheroes are forced to unite to counter the schemes of these scammers. So we can see the Avengers, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four at work to counter this threat. The confrontation is particularly violent and SHIELD bases are even destroyed in these operations.
When we still have very little information about the story, let’s start having an overview of the cast. Samuel L. Jackson takes on the leading role as Nick Fury, together with Ben Mendelsohn, who will resume his role of Skrull, which he has already cast in Captain Marvel.
We’ll also find Kingsley Ben-Adir, who we saw on The Comey Rule, as well as Emilia Clarke, one of the headliners on Game of Thrones. Finally, Olivia Colman (Broadchurh) and Killian Scott (Dublin Murders) will also be in the game.
While filming has already begun, it is not yet known when the series will air. Until then, Disney + subscribers can enjoy Loki, which hits June 9th.
